My Story

I am a California native who is currently making home in Houston, Texas. I began my journey of plant-centered eating and living at Syracuse University where I graduated with a degree in Supply Chain Management and Marketing in 2012. From there, I travelled to Boston where I discovered the joys of spiritual intentionality and living in alignment with Mother Nature. I developed my yoga practice in self training of Ashtanga Yoga and deepened my love for plant-centered cuisine supporting the creation of a vegan cafe in East Boston. By 2016, I was yearning for more, for something deeper as I could feel a higher, energetic calling on my life. So I moved to Houston, Texas, in search of passion and purpose. It was where my heart was being called.

In my first year of being a Texan, I obtained a Tiny Home Design Build  Certificate from Yestermorrow in Vermont; gained a Master Composter Certification from the City of Houston Green Building Resource Center; and took an internship at a local farm in Sunnyside that eventually manifested into a full-time employment opportunity as Assistant Farm Manager. Moving to Houston ignited my fire to grow food and learn more about local food systems. Upon leaving the farm, I ventured in edible landscaping supporting individuals in the creation and maintenance of food forests and raised gardens. Enthusiasm for growing food compelled me to join an initiative through Can Do Houston to bring local produce to the convenience stores of Acres Homes with food demonstrations on how to create inexpensive health-focused meals.

By the end of 2020, it was time for another shift. MY higher, spiritual being was seeking development. I completed a 200hr and 300hr Yoga Teacher Training through Melanin Yoga Project under the guidance of Raquel Nweze and Davina Davidson.  This was the catalyst of my independent venture of The Natural Healing Collective - an organization that collaborates with local homeowners to expand their native and edible plant landscapes through education and mentorship. Yet, the spiritual element was missing within this first iteration. So, I was led to enroll in the Ayurvedic Health Wellness Educator program at The Southern California University of Health Sciences. I am presently in my third of year of study to receive my Ayurvedic Practitioner's certification in Dec 2024. Through this program I have gained to knowledge and confidence in guiding people towards health from a deeper spiritual perspective. Hence the birth of Ayurcharya.

I am delighted to share this creation of haling with you. May she transform your life as much as she has mine.
